My name is Royaylnn Balthazar. I am a level 20 warrior/elementalist. I signed on one morning to find that i had been 'hacked'! ALL MY ITEMS, WEAPONS, DYES, MONEY, AND RUNES were gone!!!

Right now im naked and weaponless and poor. EVERYTHING IS GONE!!! They also changed my guild mesage and it said this "youve been H4CKED by [RC] Roman Conquerors the badest guild on this game"

PLEASE can someone help me! my name is royalynn balthazar, Please help me i dont know waht to do it took me a very long time to build up what i had and now it is gone.

Someone out there must be able to help me and just so i can put it on here again ROMAN CONQUERORS suck!!!!!!!!!!!Thank u all for youre help

do a full scan for trojans and spyware

change your password

you were lucky they didnt steal the account as well

Contact Anet about it. Sorry to say that chances are you won't get your stuff back, but at least Anet will know what [RC], or whoever it is, is doing.

I've heard that regestering under a Hotmail email address is a bad idea due to the hackability of those accounts, but don't really know any details about how it's done or if that's even true.. (real helpful -- I know

)

Thought I'd mention it though, as perhaps that's how they got in there..

Another way they might have gotten his password is if he installed one of those trainers or bots. They have keyloggers with them a lot.

well, you could get started again with donations from your guild- a random crappy weapon, a few days in ascalon gathering hides and furs should have you outfitted with some kind of armor. otherwise just start with a new chat and earn the money that way .

Ahh, well it happens.

However, it was rather dumb of the hackers to leave their names - email ANet straight away. Just go to Ascalon/Shiverpeaks, and do some misisons again, and get items, sell the, and you'll have a few k in a day or so.

and it's not that hard to restart with nothing. especially if you're in a guild that follows somebody like christ

IMO anyone who gets "hacked" deserved it.

They did something stupid to cause it to happen like did a shitty password (all passwords should have letters AND numbers), downloaded a trojan (suckers), told someone their password, etc etc...

I've never been "hacked" no one I know has ever been "hacked".

It's almost ALWAYS the fault of the person who got hacked.

That's the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. No one DESERVES to get hacked unless they tried to hack other people themselves or like download bots or something. Show a little compassion man. That guy probably isn't dumb enough to give out his password, and even if he did, it was just ignorance. No one truly deserves to get exploited because of their ignorance, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Royalynn I'm sorry you got hacked by these self proclaimed "bad A$$ H4X0RZ". Buncha freaking nerds who probably weigh about 300 pounds a piece and can't remember the last time they saw the sun, or a real woman...

Yeah, its pretty bad walking around elementry schools these days, the kids have something in common, they all play Runescape, it is a MMORPG, for those of you that dont know.

And 67% say they have been "hacked". Truth is, one gave out his password so someone could run a program on his account to get party hats, and another downloaded a program that is supposed to duplicate items.

Truth is when people hack, they would take the time to buff their own account, rather then steal your's.

What they just drew e-mails out of a hat hoping one of them was registered to GW then started guessing passwords?

WRONG most of the time the person who got hacked downloaded SOMETHING that they shouldn't have been using.

Well I feel sorry for OP. But what MCS said is true. They cannot so easily hack your account, unless you create oppotunity for them.
Downloading trainers and other sort of stuff sure and can will lead to hacks. Scan your comp for spywares and keyloggers.

Sounds "scammy" to me... Though I am currently unsure of the angle... Is it odd to anyone else that the originator of this thread only has one post and no other post? It would seem to me that if this was an actual issue, there might be multiple posts on different variations of the same thing. ("Help me" posts, Indignance posts, "how do I contact the company" posts, etc).

Perhaps I'm a little jaded, but I find it odd that someone, who claims to be in a guild, is posting here for help. Why wouldn't they be posting on their guild forums, or finding guild mates to help them with this new dilemma? Why come here? My guess is, this is a Roman Conqueror looking for a bit of publicity for his uB3r l337 haxx0r [email protected] (add !'s 1's and OMG's LOL's to taste)

Sounds like he wants to give someone a bad name, or perhaps he deleted the account. Personally, i doubt a level 20 warrior elementalist would do that. It's so easy to use spells to kill mobs and get new items.
